teamboat!

a brief history

teamboat was founded in 2002. the exact date is not known, but the formation of teamboat took place during a warmup session before rugby training began. it all began when roland played a game of random team on battle.net before training. relating the experience of the game to daniel, roland talked about him having a horrible partner who referred to the unit "steam tanks" as "steamboats". daniel then had a brainwave, and the two of them decided to create accounts called teamboat1 and teamboat2: the name thought up due to daniel's fascination with food and warcraft.

guanghao joined shortly after the formation of teamboat, due to the need for intelligence to balance out the gluttony in daniel and good looks in roland. together, the trio have accomplished feats such as making seoul garden move out of j8. armed with their passion for food and good recommendations from guanghao, teamboat strives to test (and at the same time, destroy) all buffets in singapore.

currently, the strength of teamboat stands at 3: daniel, guanghao and roland. there is, at the moment, only 1 associate member: clement.

daisy..

watched daisy yesterday!

it was quite gd, albeit being pretty slow at the start. it gradually became funnier towards the end. heh. anyway, i think that the characters were well chosen. as in, the actors fit the characters' personalities quite well. haha thats what i felt. anyway, i think daisy's good friend (no offence meant to you if you read this, seriously), trixie? can't rmb, has a too high and yet monotonous voice. i think that's what gave me the headaches i'm having now. hahahaha jk jk =D.

parents went out yesterday to queue for the apple sale. bought 2 ipod minis, both at 30% discounts. one pink and one blue. pink went to my sis and blue went to my bro. and i'm still stuck at using a muvo² with no playlist scrolling whatsoever. ahhhh. why is life so unfair =D

but ohwells. i got my mouseeee. THANKS ALOT MANNN <3<3 but don't mess up the date of my birthday next time arh =D

yup that's abt it. short update. bye.

oh and if you didn't know, rj lost to acjc in the finals of rugby. yeah. =(

I'M BACKKK

BOO! haha i hope i didn't scare u guys. =D

ok. so i'm BACK IN ACTION!!! RAWRRRR!!! went for training today, it was great! i love rugby. <3<3. the adrenaline rush during the tackles. that split second of decision making. ahhhhh. <3<3.

ok so today i went for my first training in erm. 10 days! cooooool. it was fun lah, being the last training of this 2004/2005 season and all. yeah. and quite memorable with khairul's pro speech. ahahaha. "if i die on the field u betta worship and respect my body ok" hahahaha. funnys.

ok so before that. erm. it was a normal monday loh. erm i got back my hist essay for SEA, and it's 15.5, which shows that i have not made much of an improvement since my last attempt. ahahahaha. i'm screwed. talking about studies, shittings there's gp common test tomorrow, and i have read erm. 8 chapters of the Wheel of Time. hahaha. i'm soooo prepared like i usually am. ^^

anyway. gp = english. english = gp. english = no need to study. hence, gp = no need to study. aren't you guys amazed by my logic? hahahaha.

anyway. yup so i'm so prepared that i'm not nervous at all! haha. but seriously, i think my approach to the common tests are bad. i'm like going wtf is the common test?. hahaha. bad me bad me.

on a side note, i WANT A MOUSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeee. UGGGH. *jealous* MX518/510/310/300. plspls. drop from the sky. or you people out there can collectively buy one for me. it'll be cheap if u guys share cost. ahahaha. and erm can i have it earlier if you all do buy one for me, like people who get salary in advance. i'd like my birthday presents in advance too. =D

ok enough whining...HELL NO! i'll whine all night. =P

tomorrow is gonna be a long day. after gp common test i'm going to cut hair then going to singapore poly then going back to bishan for STAR WARS at 7.30! haha. looooooooong day. sighsighsigh.

ohwell i guess it's time to sign out. lam's waiting for me to game with him and his new mouse uggggh. -______-"

you guys watched star wars. now watch...

STORE WARS! hahaha

http://www.storewars.org/flash/

it's DAMN funny. haha. chewbroccoli. darth tater. yoghurt. ahahahaha. check it out man. oh and the Thai fighters were just GREATTTTT. hahaha.

today was fun. we got clement a mouse, mx 518, and it came together with a game (Men of Valor) and a shirt. cooool. i need a new mouse la. my current one suxxxx. oh and lam also went to buy his mouse. cool ehhh. o_O

anyway, off to eat my dinner already. hahaha. watch the store wars k. it's really good.

EDIT: ok i just finished dinner. time to do the real bloggin =D

we met at cine! i was late but that's another issue. found lam wandering around in heeren and we went to cine together. then after some talking and discussing we decided to watch the 3.35 show of "Are We Getting There Yet?" and i have to say, my first movie after like 3 months of hiatus from the cinema was, sad to say, stupid. but it was stupidly funny la so it's ok. haha.

okok i'm going too fast. before the movie, we went to marche, to do some marchenizing as zhaoyu puts it. haha. i ate the Caramel Banana Crepe With Ice Cream first, and BOY IT WAS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. it's my fav! although it's a dessert, i ate it first! hahahaa. weird me. then after that i had a rosti, which i couldn't really finish because 1) i ate at 11am. and 2) i got sick of the potato's "starchy" taste. i dunno how to put it la. so ya. at least i finished like 3/4 of it, didn't waste too much food. clement paid for everything because we're such nice friends. aha. ok la actually he paid for everything because we didn't eat that much. hahahaha. but anyways, <3 you clem!! <3 <3

went down to lan after the meal. we were joined by WhoDaBerry, who drove down after playing touch rug in rj. weirdddd. ya so we walked to cyberdome. met lots of ppl la. rj and ri ones. hahaa. then anthony's grp went out so we took their seats and played an internal 3v3 game. i randomed in allpick and got chaos knight and in the end i got 888 dmg crits so ya. haha.

ok the MOVIE. omg it's SUPER STUPID. don't watch it unless you wanna pay money to laugh. which is useless. just pay me the money la and i can do stupid things to make u laugh too or smth. but as lam said, he wanted to watch a stupid movie not an intellectual movie. so ya there you go lam.

haha after that didn't do much la. lam got his mx518 too. GRR. I WANT NEED A NEW MOUSEEEE (hehe, hear that people? =D) A S A P. haha.

ok that's all for today. happy birthday clemmm. seventeeeeeeeeeeeeen. haha. byeee ^^

EDIT 2: haha. my beliefs closely resemble an agnostic/buddhist. which i guess is kinda true.

You scored as Buddhism. Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Buddhism. Do more research on Buddhism and possibly consider becoming Buddhist, if you are not already.

In Buddhism, there are Four Noble Truths: (1) Life is suffering. (2) All suffering is caused by ignorance of the nature of reality and the craving, attachment, and grasping that result from such ignorance. (3) Suffering can be ended by overcoming ignorance and attachment. (4) The path to the suppression of suffering is the Noble Eightfold Path, which consists of right views, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right-mindedness, and right contemplation. These eight are usually divided into three categories that base the Buddhist faith: morality, wisdom, and samadhi, or concentration. In Buddhism, there is no hierarchy, nor caste system; the Buddha taught that one's spiritual worth is not based on birth.

oh and my cough is getting better! i'm not coughing much already!! hehee. soon i'll be as fit as a.. LIGER!! woah. *prances around the room* oh and if you're wondering what a liger is, it's napoleon dynamite's favourite animal. a cross breed between a lion and a tiger. kinda cool.

ok i just realised this whole post is utterly stupid and meaningless, except to wish clement a very happy birthday. so i shall end it off with a big big big...

I ROCK!

ok wait, i mean.

BYE!

hmm, still getting there..

hmm.

i'm in a state of pensiveness.

this fever, this sickness, this MC has given me a lot of time to do some thinking, and i guess it ties in very well with the departure of the four girls to 1b. i love all of you, and hope that we'll still be very good friends in time to come.

okay.

i've been re-reading the v'day pressies when i was bored. the letters.

and it astounds me how people change.

then i went and took a look at my testimonials. or rather, my lack of testimonials.

it saddens me how people change.

so quickly. in the instance of a heartbeat.

and the worst part is, i don't know why they do.

EDIT: i just found something funny, and it made my day. haha. enjoy.

In the wide world of dating, there are many options. Do you go for the flashy guy with the smooth smile, or the dude in the corner typing away on his laptop? The following are reasons why I think my fellow females should pay more attention to the quiet geeks and nerds, and less attention to the flashy boys.

1.) While geeks and nerds may be awkward, they're well-meaning 9 out of 10 times. That smooth dude with the sly grin and the spider hands? Wonder what HIS intentions are... plus, I've never had a geek guy not call me when he said he would. Score major points THERE.

2.) They're useful. In this tech-savvy world, it's great to have a b/f who can make your laptop, desktop, and just about anything else that plugs into a wall behave itself.

3.) They're more romantic than they're given credit for. Ok true, their idea of romance might be to make up a spiffy web-page with all the reasons why they love you, with links to pics of you and sonnets and such... but hey. It lasts longer than flowers, plus you can show your friends.

4.) Due to their neglected status, there are plenty to choose from. You like 'em tall and slender? There are plenty of geeks/nerds who are. You like 'em smaller with more meat on their bones? Got that too.

5.) They've got brains. Come on now, how can intelligence be a bad thing?

6.) Most are quite good at remembering dates. Like birthdates and such, especially if they know it'll make you happy. Due again to their neglected status, they're more attentive than guys who "have more options". Plus, with all that down time without a steady girlfriend, they'll likely have mental lists of all the things they'd love to do once they GOT a girlfriend.

7.) Sex. Yep. Sex. I'm not really familiar with this myself, but I've friends who've been intimate with geek guys and it's raves all around. They say a virgin wrote the Kama Sutra... all that time thinking about sex, imagining sex, dreaming about sex, (they are male after all) coupled with a desire to make you happy? Use your imagination.

8.) They're relatively low-maintenance. Most can be fueled on pizza, Twinkies and Mt Dew. No complicated dinners needed here, so if you're not the best cook, eh. Can you order a pizza?

9.) Most frequent bars as often as slugs frequent salt mines. You won't have to worry much about your geek guy getting his "groove" on with club hotties because, frankly, he'll be too busy rooting around under his computer wondering where that spare cable went. You won't have to worry about him flirting with other women because, 9 out of 10 times, he'll zip right by them in a perfect b-line towards the nearest electronics store. I've seen this happen.
Me: "Eww. Victoria Secret's Models... They're so skinny. How is that feminine? You can see her ribs!"
Geek Guy: "ooooooo..."
Me: "Hey!" *notices he is staring lustfully towards the computer store*
Geek Guy: "What?"
Me: "Never mind..."

10.) Although he may not want to go to every outing with you, you can arrange swaps, as in, you'll go to his Gamer Con dressed as an elf princess if he'll take you to the ballet. Plus, if he doesn't want to go someplace with you, you won't have to worry much about what he's up to. You'll probably come home to find him asleep on his keyboard in a sea of Mt. Dew cans with code blinking from the screen. It's ok. He's used to this. Just toss a blanket over him and turn out the light.

11.) His friends aren't jerks. I can't stress this enough. You'll more likely get "Omg! A GIRL!! Can I see?!" than "Hey hot stuff back that ass up here and let me get some grub on..." They're awkward geeks too and will, 9 times out of 10, treat you with the utmost respect and, more than likely, a note of awe. A cute girl picked one of their clan to date? It could happen to them! Hope! Drag some of your single girlfriends over, open up a pack of Mt. Dew, crack open the DnD set and get working. Nothing impresses geek guys more than a girl who can hack-n-slash (well ok maybe if she can code... a geek can dream).

12.) They're rarely if ever possessive. They trust you, so you can be yourself around them. You like to walk around the house in a ratty t-shirt for comfort? He won't care. He does too! They won't get pissy if you don't wear make-up or don't want to bother primping your hair. If you gain a few pounds, they won't try their best to make you feel like crap.

13.) They're usually very well educated. Physics majors and the like. See #5. You won't have to listen to him blathering on about his car (ok maybe a little), he'll have loads of other interesting things to talk about. Politics, world events, how much the chicken burgers down at the local place rock, so long as you douse them in hot sauce...

14.) You'll almost never have to hear, "Yaw dawg whazzap!!" plop out of their mouths. Unless it's in jest. They spell properly, use correct punctuation, and are able to tell the difference between the toilet and the floor. They almost never get "wasted", so you won't have to worry about coming home to find him and his friends passed out on the floor amidst a pile of beer bottles. Mt. Dew cans, perhaps...

15.) And the final reason why geeks and nerds make great boyfriends: They actually give a damn about you. Not how you look (though that's a plus), not how skinny you are, not how much make-up you primp yourself up with, but they like you for you. That kind of thing lasts longer than "DAMN baby you got a fine ass!!!" Believe me.

down with the sickness

is a nice song! hahaha.

anyway. ya today i didn't go to school cause i had a fever. 38.2 degrees lehhh. ouchhh. then went to see a doc and measured 38.3!! whoaaaa i guess i'm damn hot? haha jk. now i got tonnes of medicine. phlegm, open airway, runny nose, antibiotics, antibiotics, fever, cough. lolol. and like 4/7 of them are like. drowsy medicine. as in u drink liao then u become "UGGGH UGGGGH I WANNA SLEEEEEP". so i guess u guys won't be seeing me online much. i'll be sleeping away. haha. then again, more sleep = more growth = taller. wheeeeeeeee. if i do grow taller i'll be thanking the fever. hahaha.

going to watch rugby soon @ PA. sorry guys for not being able to help out today with equipment n stuff. =( but i'll be there to support!! ^^ hehe i'm feeling very excited about this match. rj vs sa.

EDIT: rjc won 7-0. played badly. but ohwells. a win is still a win. we'll pick it up from there and be totally prepared for the finals! ^^

anyway. the class is kinda fucked now due to lotsa stupid bitching/backstabbing. ugggh. why can't we all coexist happily together? this class, although as fun as it may be normally, can get damn bad once conflicts start to happen. boooo.

anyway, cheer up hokays.

sighsighsigh.

enchanted

today i went for dance night afternoon! it was, frankly, quite good. perhaps it's because i've never went for any of these before. ahahaha. virgin experience. so basically went there LATE. boo. missed 1 bloody performance. but nvm. then walked into the performing arts centre and found my class, and enjoyed the first few performances. wahhh. then after the intermission i went to find the ruggers! and it turned out that they reserved seats and there was 1 seat available for me in the FRONT ROWW!!! woahh good view so i went there =p they went after training so dats why got good seats. haha. oh yah abt training. BACKTRACK.

so before dance afternoon, or night, whatever, i went to jjc for pre-u sem briefing instead of training! ohnoes. i felt sooooooooooooooooo GUILTY for not going for training. but i couldn't skip that briefing cos i'm not in the team. BAHHH. so anyway went to jjc at like 8.20. then one usher told me to walk to LT5. so i walked and found my way there WITHOUT GETTING LOST! HAH!. ya so i went in there and saw all the different uniforms and i COULDN'T FIND THE PLAIN WHITE ONES!!! ohnoesss. so i sat in the front row because the usher told me to, and then stoned ard. ahhhh. damn boring. fiddled ard with my handphone until suddenly i heard "hi roland!". i was like. damn shocked. haha. turned out to be kat. HI KAT! ok den she told me that the rj ppl are in the CANTEEN. WAHHhh. so i walked a long distance back to the canteen to find them. yay. no more mr. lonely. i'm addicted to that song btw, but that's another matter.

ok so then we strolled down to LT5. pre-u sem sounds really fun. as in, meeting new people and all. and then the whole bunking experience. i hope it'll be really good. haha.

ok back to dance.

then i watched the gymnasts jump. PHWARRRR pro. damn flexible too. haha. then i can't rmb the dances la. but the tap dance was cool. like it's super psychomotor? no idea. but it looked DAMN HARD. but i think the syf dance was like. WTF?!?!?!? it's kinda weird imo. o_O

after dance we went to wei's house. lalalala. ate chips/pizza. played we8 and lost to yam even though i had the crappier team and DOMINATED IN POSSESSION. aiya lucks la. lol. then we watched closer. it's another WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?! movie. but the ending was nice. then played mahjong. i am PRO at mahjong OKAY! haha then went home.

oh wells. anyway. it seems that MANYMANY people are quite. depressed. =( CHEER UP OKAYS! ok byebye.

ps. happy birthday mavis!
pps. someone owes me lunch. HOHOHOHO.
ppps. dessert buffet soon ya? msg me.
pppps. daniel has a new darling. it's his laptop. but i'm still his darling la.

intellectual post..#2!

i'm feeling intellectual. i don't know why, perhaps it's because today is MOTHER'S DAY!!! happy mother's day mom!!! =D

ok. here i go.

consider this:
a woman; without her, man is nothing
a woman, without her man, is nothing

cool eh? basically today's topic will be on punctuation. jon's attempt to sabo me yesterday led me to think abt this subject. you see, without punctuations, phrases (such as the example that i have raised) can be taken in totally different meanings from the intended meaning!! for those who are as smart as zan/shib, i shall explain. from the example, you can see that both sentences have the exact same words, but different punctuations inserted at different places. the first (and when i say first, i mean the one on top) example says that a woman is necessary for mankind to survive. which is true. because without women, where would the porn seeking men seek solace in? mankind wouldn't survive due to a lack of procreation, which results in an ageing population which results in the total elimination of the human race!!! ohnoessss. the second example says that a woman "without her man", also known as the SINGLE DESPERATE and UGLY woman, is worth nothing, which is also true, because she can't make good porn videos. because she is unwanted.

so basically, you can see that grammar plays a big part in people's understanding of topics. so boys and girls reading this, use proper grammar in order to avoid misunderstandings. should someone like jon try to sabo you because of improper grammar, you're in for deep shit. hahaha.

see shib&jon&yam, i can be quite intellectual after all. =D

ok bye. hist essay calls ^^

today was the coolest training ever.

like seriously. we had BOXing for training. how cool is that. haha. it's just like having.. erm.. fishing during soccer training or smth. or perhaps, BAGing (box, bag, get it? =D). ya and then after that it was 40m shuttle runs, and stuff. uggh tiring. and to top it all off.. 100 pushups. hahaha. basically it's a PT session laaa. haven't had one in ages since seah left. haha.

after training i went to meet jon/yam/diana(jon's friend) at queensway. didn't see much. then while going to town, we were discussing star wars (which reminds me of space balls)! which is now leading me to think about LOTR, since they are both trilogies. ok starwars isn't really a trilogy but it's made in trilogies. haha.

so about LOTR. i liked it la. basically the story can be summed up in this gif that i found..

ok so i digressed.

went to town, and we had a shopping spreeee. bought jeans. but the shemale gave me a wrong pair. uggh. so tmr i'm going back to change it. booooo. then went home with sis.

to jon & shib: mm this isn't the intellectual post that i was talking about. i'll save it for next time =p

ok i'll end off now. don't feel like blogging already. mighty tired.

chomp chomp chomp

backtrack. thursday.

we played vs pioneer jc. won 65-0. isn't really a win though, considering that we played damn badly. i'd say we failed to meet our expectations/standards? sigghhhh. if i play confirm 100000-0 wan lohhh. hahaha jk. yup but it was really funny because when the ball rolled down the slope and ryan went down to pick it up. hahaha. he SLID down the slope and ended up on the OTHER side of the RI FENCE!!!! like how wacky is that. hahaha. to quote ryan.

"i dunno i was running down. then suddenly i slid. everything was black. then i found myself tangled in the fence. then i unentangled from the fence and i was like WTF. i was on the other side of the fence."

when asked about what injuries he sustained.

"just this cut on my nose."

5 minutes later

"oh shit there's this cut on my leg!" (it was like from the middle of the shin to his upper inner thigh. how orgasmic violating. =p)

a few seconds later

"oh shit look at my stomach!!" (it was from his waist to below his left nipple)

and daniel proceeded to check ryan's groin area.

ya but basically it was HILARIOUS. like during half-time break teamtalk we were laughing. like MAD. haha.

backtrack. today.

long day. blehhh. i'm sexy tired. ok so today was a long day. took up 1 period our friggin break to settle class stuffs. i'm glad it's finally sort of settling. then the next period the BOOBY TRAP WASN'T HERE! mixed emotions. firstly i'm glad that she wasn't there, and i didn't have to undergo 1hr of torture. sadly i did my homework, and could not get to pass it up. WASTED WORK. GRRRRR. ohwell. it was a fairly normal LONG day. haha. o ya during pe we played soccer and akesh and james kept on blasting the balls over, resulting in us having to pick them and while someone was picking the ball, we did PT. ahhhhh. after tat i gymmed, so i'm friggin tired now. haha. and then i went for tuition. came home feeling smart. finished all the examples and tutorials. YAY. =D

basically this weekend will be dedicated to studying/homework (which one isn't?!?!). next week there's econs test, math test, hist essay, gp compre, lit test. ouch. like basically all these 7(?) weeks of not doing much work is paid back with next week's killer week. ouchhh.

oh and i'm addicted to a song called rippy the gator. it's cool. chompchompchomp. hoho.

ohwells. mug mug.

hmm...

ok so after reading sooo many deep and thought-provoking blog entries, and comparing them to my boring and stupid and silly ones, i am going to try my hand at writing one.

have you ever wondered why sometimes shit doesn't flush down the toilet, no matter how long you hold the flush for? is the shit too big? or is the toilet too small? hownowbrowncow? perhaps the water is too little, or the suction force created is too lousy? wowww points to ponder. i think sometimes my shit is just too large, like today's. but usually they can go in too, with the aid of additional water from my shower hose. hmm. maybe it's not enough water?

also. have you ever wondered (thanks denise for this great idea) why a doughnut has a circle of nothing in it, that makes it a real doughnut? if it doesn't have that circle of nothing, it wouldn't be called a doughnut. but i still like doughnuts. even if they have no holes in it, and even if they are called buns. perhaps it's because..

ok this contemplative thing isn't working at all.

anyway about my day. today was. awkward la. won't talk much abt it. ohwells at least almost everything has cleared up, but i feel kinda bad. anyway, cheer up dude. oh and today we made ms wong walk out on us. i feel damn bloody guilty now. like if i hadn't talked to eddy and eddy hadn't made that joke we wouldn't have laughed that loudly and she wouldn't have gotten so pissed off. sighsighsigh. i'll stop screwing around in econs tutorial next time. haha. oh and the class got screwed in math tutorial today too for not finishing it up. bad day it seems. ><

anyway, yesterday was rugby exco announcements. congrats to the following:
captain : steven
vice-captain : aaron
vice-captain : ilman
quartermaster : senthil
"extra" =p : david
ya and they stripped steven. poor you steven. haha.

ok basically now i'm damn lethargic. my mind is tired, perhaps from trying to think too much just now. chim stuff isn't for me i guess. haha. ahhh. i'm falling sick ><

anyway. time to finish up the cookies n cream. bb all.
