teamboat!

a brief history

teamboat was founded in 2002. the exact date is not known, but the formation of teamboat took place during a warmup session before rugby training began. it all began when roland played a game of random team on battle.net before training. relating the experience of the game to daniel, roland talked about him having a horrible partner who referred to the unit "steam tanks" as "steamboats". daniel then had a brainwave, and the two of them decided to create accounts called teamboat1 and teamboat2: the name thought up due to daniel's fascination with food and warcraft.

guanghao joined shortly after the formation of teamboat, due to the need for intelligence to balance out the gluttony in daniel and good looks in roland. together, the trio have accomplished feats such as making seoul garden move out of j8. armed with their passion for food and good recommendations from guanghao, teamboat strives to test (and at the same time, destroy) all buffets in singapore.

currently, the strength of teamboat stands at 3: daniel, guanghao and roland. there is, at the moment, only 1 associate member: clement.

bored

i'm bored so here i am, blogging about random stuff that goes through my head =D

ok first. hist tutorial test tomorrow. or rather, timed assessment. it's quite ironic that people keep on asking me on what to study when i don't even know the question, or even the focus of the question! hahaha =D i'm kinda dead for it i guess lol.

mhm. long week next week. tuesday is an off day for me too because of inter-schools dota. so yay. and tuesday will be a very eventful day because it's the last ever training at ri before they demolish the hall/field. ahh ahh memories~~

so with tuesday as an off day, wednesday as teacher's day celebration, thursday as teacher's day (and we're visiting our CT btw, it's gonna be quite fun) and friday as a school holiday, i pretty much have a 13 day septemeber holiday. ahahahaha =D but then of course, the time will be devoted to studying. =D

someone wake me up please.

i can't believe that promos are just around the corner. like. in 33(?) days we'll be taking GP. and then it'll just blow over in like 2 weeks? i dunno i haven't exactly mugged the promo timetables hahaha. it's like i don't want it to come, yet i want it to hurry up so that i can have fun faster. if you get my drift =D

then again, i wish there weren't timed tests that determine your fate. i think the proper way to go is through continual assessment. because hey, you gotta admit, it's not a good way of judging how much a person has learnt. look at PSLE for example. and the O's. one slip-up and your future is ruined. well that's not the truth for some special cases, but it's generally true as far as i know.

but then, then again, continual assessment would be really stressful. like every test counts and there's tonnes of pressure to do well for every test. maybe this will make school more un-fun? i dunno.

ahh. steamboat calls. byebye =D

school -.-

warning: rant.

disclaimer: this rant is strictly my opinion, and should not be taken as an attack at the organisation at hand, nor the people running the organisation.

ready? get set? go.

ok remember how the school always encourages healthy living? keeping fit? wow how do they think they can help to achieve that when you lock up the school gym and make it unaccessible for the students in rj?? to use the gym now, there must be permission from the teacher in order for the teacher to help unlock it. stupid? well there's more. it's not any other teacher, it's your teacher in charge. now that's dumb, isn't it? so what happens if your teacher in charge is absent? you can't use the gym? what kind of absurd logic is that? why must the weights room be locked? wow i'm so gonna steal all the weights in there and carry it singlehandedly home.

i understand their frustrations at the gym weights not being kept back properly, and the plain refusal by students to sign in. but what's the point of locking the gym up? it's a lose-lose situation: the students aren't able to keep fit, and the school's expectation of students keeping fit by themselves is unfulfillable. great work there. there's so much emphasis on the school treating us like adults. yet if there's so little trust in the students, what kind of treatment is that? it's so hypocritical. aren't we all 17 year olds? can't there be trust in the students? i do my little part by keeping back the weights that i use. isn't locking up the gym unfair? what about the many others who also keep back the weights? what do we do if our teacher is absent? be denied of our gym sessions? plain stupid, i swear.

so what if people do not sign in. accountability reasons i guess? but what's there to account for when no one will steal weights? you won't be seeing people lugging a bag across their shoulders while carrying a few dumbbells in their arms. it's just plain stupid.

oh and on another note. attire.

ok so the school states that attire should be worn properly at all times, there's a need to be neat and tidy. so does this mean that guy's hair can't be slightly long at the back? what's wrong with that. as long as it's tidy, it's ok isn't it? the inherent irony is that the idea of being neat and tidy is to portray a good image of the school. so how does really long skirts that look like they are in no man's land (or in this case, woman's) fit into the idea of portraying a good image? the thing they aren't getting is that the portrayal of the school is judged by society's viewpoints. so if something looks hideous but neat, it still does not go well in the eyes of the general public. the same goes with hair. so what if a guy's hair at the back is longer than the collar level? as long as it's presentable/neat and not really bushy and all, doesn't it still work out eventually since it's accepted in our society?

another pertinent issue is the ankle socks issue. ok this applies more to ri, but who cares. ever seen people wear high socks which, after much walking/running, eventually crumple down into a mess just above the ankle? wow that's so much neater than ankle socks. ever seen ankle socks crumple up? no. furthermore, it's so much more tedious to keep pulling up longer socks everytime it crumples downwards. so why are ankle socks still banned? let's question the purpose of having socks. they are to absorb our sweat from our feet inside our shoes right? do they have any purpose in protecting our calf hairs? i doubt it. so what's wrong with ankle socks as long as they fulfill their purpose? furthermore, they look much better, again, from society's viewpoint. and they are easier to maintain too.

but as it is, rules can't be stretched, or they'll give me a white slip. so i'll have to go cut my hair -.- over the weekend i suppose.

i am proud to say that the rugby team has earned glory for the school in today's 10s tournament. =D

ok we got a silver. now u guys must be thinking: who gives a shit about a silver? well we lost on penalty kicks. against sajc. =( penalty kicks aren't a clear demarcation of skill, and it was clear that we were the better team when we switched on.

anyway, before the final, we met acjc in the semifinal and beat them thoroughly. hah to all you non-believers who didn't have faith in the rugby team =D

silver. silver.

i want my gold

anyways, i'm dead tired now and shall shutup and go watch the trinations.

ever wonder how people can survive tYpInG lIkE tHiS for everything they want to say online?

i have.

it's amazing how they can keep on pressing shift at each alternate letter isn't it? it's rather tedious, don't you think? the slow aspect aside, it looks disgusting. with bad fonts, words like lIkE can look like either LLKE or IIKE or ILKE or LIKE. an example would be arial. so why the hell do people want to continue typing in alt caps anyway?

is it because it's cool? LiKe WoW i CaN pReSs ShIfT cOnTiNuOuSlY tHaT mAkEs Me BeTtEr ThAn YoU aNd ShOwS tHaT mY e-PeNiS iS bIgGeR tHaN yOuRs!

is it because it's easier to type like that? hell no.

is it because it looks more appealing? perhaps to the people who use it too. which, sadly to say, is probably like 50% of the singaporean teenage population.

is it because it is just plain retarded? i guess so.

why the hell am i bothering about how people type?!? hmm hmm =/

anyway. just got my a&f polo. thanks shib! i meant thanks dinika. hahahahah. although the colour wasn't what i really wanted, it's really nice too. so yay. and it fits really well. so double yay. costed around 91 bux which means: RATIONING!! i'm used to it cos i lost money on euro2004 last year and had to...

...eat grass for 1 month

uggh lol.

lalala =D

this is probably post title lalala #55 or something like that.

anyway. came back from training and didn't want to do work, so i guess i'm gonna blog abit. i'll start from yesterday.

yesterday. ok i was reaching home at around 7.30 (i was on the pie. no i was not doing math homework (and why the hell would i be ON a pie anyway), but pan-island expressway =D) then when SUDDENLY.......... sean d called me. and asked me to meet them in town to eat @ marche to celebrate samtan's birthday. so being the LOYAL friend i am i bathed in 5 mins (and skipped certain rituals which i do every bathtime ^^ *hinthint*) and CABBED all the way to orchard. lalala.

then when i reached orchard i ran thru hmv. and couldn't find them. so i was like OHNOES!!! then apparently they went out and were walking towards marche while i ran in. smart huh? =| ok so it was me, nickchiu, seand, lloyd, junde, leslie, maxine and BIRTHDAY BOY SAMTAN!!! wah the spread was gd. i had nice ribeye steak followed with calamari and softshell crab. then topped it off with a VERY VERY NICE banana crepe with icecream. mm mm. it was orgasmic ahhh. =D

i was wet.

cos i laugh so much and pee in my pants laR!!! stupid ppl who think dirty tsktsktsk. our conversation was frickin RETARDED. ok where can conversations go with lloyd and nickchiu around anyway. hahahaha.

then when we were leaving. BANG. samtan forgot to bring his money lol. so we frantically checked our wallets for moneys. and scraped together 140+ and paid. whee.

anyway, thanks samtan! <3

so anyways. got there at around 6. to my dismay it was only ME + 5 other girls. gender unequality =/ so i felt left out for like 1 hr before floyd fajoo came to my rescue. PHEW~!

ok so ya. it started with like the miscellaneous group stoning ard in 1 corner, eating n talking. then some moved out and etc. and somehow i found myself playing very.. uhh.. creative window games. as in. close window open window take a bow window 1 window 2 window 3 window 4 window xp (someone say WTF? now =D). and also the scissors-paper-stone-slap-your-hand-as-hard-as-i-can game. yup it was hilarious cos i looked like a retard i guess. =/ hahaha. =D then went to climb up the rope pyramid thingie. at the top me and seand started listening to music and singing. ahahah. satisfying =p

after that we started taking retarded pictures. like. all the guys faced outwards alternately. like the first faced front, then the second faced back, and on and on. hahaha. so ya after the hilarious pics i went up to inka's place to get my bag to prepare to leave with seand!

oh ya talking abt inka's place. whoa it's hugeee. as in, huge compared to my humble little abode. hahaha.

ok so anyway while i was up there i missed samtan getting dunked. haiz. o ya thinking abt it, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAMTAN! hehe. anyway, ya after that we talked abit before cabbing home. whee.

ok this marks the end of my play period. mugging starts now. hiatus byeeee. =D

WOAH damn NERVOUS. cos got the jap pros behind too. hahaha. apparently they cldn't find out who had the higher score b/w me sarahsmith and wanjun(?spelling?), so we hafta go back and dance again!!! omg so siasuay. after that we played uno + uno stacko + carrom + taboo until like 2+. haha.

then after that we went for sakae sushi!! woohoo!! thanks to david who treated us =D me lam tubby and senthil sat at the FRONT. which meant that we were the first to access the sushi w/ SALMON!! and the rest of the good sushi!!! it was super funny cos we just left a blank space on the conveyer belt and the tables behind were going "wah lao, we also want leh". haha. then we were joined by wenjie and sheryl (tsktsk what were u all up to =D) and we ate and ate and ate and ate and ate. potbelly~~

anyway, THANK YOU DAVID!

so you'd think yesterday i'd be running around my estate, trying to lose weight. you're wrong. (sadly, for me)

yesterday was wenloong's house day. ok it was national day. whatever. we had the usual: cheesesticks. mm mm damn gd. new maid also can cook sia!! =D and then we had a bbq. whee i'm the BBQ KING man. (no more ddr king =/) ok so we started the fire and wenloong the future arsonist kept on pouring the liquid fuel into the bbq pit and the flames were SOARING. beware of wenloong next time ar. not only might he touch your ass, he might burn it too! =D (jkjk) bbq was gd. cos there was TONNES of meat. (too bad lam. hahaha) i ate like. beef. chicken. beef. beef. chicken. chicken. chicken. fries. chicken. beef. chicken. hot dog. corn. chicken. corn. beef. ya you get my drift. hahaha =p (my poor belly ahHHH) then we had like. water touch rugby. wah damn hard to run in the water LOL. and we looked retarded. but it was super funny ahhahahahah. before we knew it it was 11pm. and then i went home with man.

match later. looks like it isn't gonna rain. whee. finally dry ball LOL. and proper toilets somemore. yay.

sleepover aft match. tralala it'll be fun i guess. 4 guys 2 girls technically, but with alps around, i think we should consider it 5 guys 1 girl ya? =D

DDR KING!!!

i hereby crown myself as the king of ddr.

ok jk. =D

anyway today was quite an eventful day. got off at 11 (i meant school.. not.. uggh if you know what i mean =p) for rehearsal for the haka. and before 11 i had a break! so effectively i had school from 8am-10am =D

the thing is, our past rehearsals for the haka was a complete WASTE OF TIME!!! because we were saying like. "go slower", "move forward at the end" yadda yadda and GUESS WHAT? we repeated the same haka that we used to do everytime again!!! hahaha =D anyways. when we were walking out right. the person opposite me (dunno who) was grinning and so i grinned too!! then i couldn't keep a straight face until the haka started. hahaha. i think i looked retarded.

ok before that there were performances lah. basketball was gd. loved the part where the ball was in nicholas's shirt and then he hit it round his waist and it came out. wahh cool =D then came soccer. very nice tricks donavan!!! tricksy little hobbit. and the hockey was just. WHOA. ok they screwed the juggling part up but when it was executed flawlessly, it was superb.

anyway on to the ddr.

after the IHC opening ceremony the ruggers went for DDR. a small group of me ilman wenloong turned into a huge crowd consisting of lam david ryan arjun aaron jaafer (and more, i think). the lt was pretty full so we're like "wah so many ppl dancing!!" then when junyi read out the number of people participating, we went "WTF!!! the rest of them are WATCHING?!?!?!". nervous lol. anyway i was like the DDR KING!!! that shall be my new title from now on. hoho. and if only senthil was there. it'd be sooo cool to watch him dance. ahaha.

then went down to queensway to buy boots. me jaafer wenloong. we searched high and low (no, we didn't search wenloong) to find the BEST PRICE. and in the end i settled for these chio reebok boots that no one else will wear!! imagine how cool is that. like you're the only one wearing reebok on the field. MWAHAHAHA. jaafer got his for like. 80. mine were 69. and wenloong got his studs at a discount of 90cents, for 6 bux.

ahh. eventful day. but there's work to do for tmr and i shall start on it now. =D
